Description

# Add macOS Apple Silicon Support

## Summary

Add native macOS support to **Strata**, targeting **Apple Silicon Macs only** (`arm64`, M1 and newer).

The goal is to make the existing project build, install, launch, and function correctly on macOS without attempting to support Intel Macs (`x86_64`).

## Scope

This issue should cover the work required to make Strata compatible with:

- macOS on Apple Silicon
- `arm64` architecture
- M1, M2, M3, M4, and newer Apple Silicon systems

Intel-based Macs are explicitly out of scope.

## Requirements

- [ ] Audit the current codebase for Windows/Linux-specific assumptions, APIs, paths, shell commands, dependencies, and build tooling.
- [ ] Replace or abstract platform-specific functionality where needed.
- [ ] Add macOS-compatible implementations for any OS-level functionality used by Strata.
- [ ] Ensure filesystem paths and configuration/storage locations follow macOS conventions.
- [ ] Update dependency handling for packages or native modules that do not currently support macOS ARM64.
- [ ] Ensure any bundled binaries or external executables have compatible `darwin-arm64` builds.
- [ ] Add or update build scripts so the project can produce a native Apple Silicon macOS build.
- [ ] Ensure development commands work correctly from a clean checkout on an M-series Mac.
- [ ] Document any macOS-specific prerequisites or setup steps.
- [ ] Preserve existing behavior on currently supported platforms wherever possible.

## Build Target

The macOS build only needs to target:

```text
darwin-arm64
```

Support for:

```text
darwin-x64
```

is not required.

## Acceptance Criteria

- [ ] Strata can be cloned and installed on a clean Apple Silicon Mac.
- [ ] All required dependencies install successfully on `arm64` macOS.
- [ ] The application builds successfully without architecture-related errors.
- [ ] The application launches and its primary functionality works on macOS.
- [ ] Platform-specific functionality either works natively on macOS or has an appropriate macOS implementation.
- [ ] No Rosetta 2 dependency is required for normal operation.
- [ ] A native `arm64` macOS build can be produced.
- [ ] macOS setup/build instructions are documented in the repository.
- [ ] Existing supported platforms are not unintentionally broken by the changes.

## Notes

The intent is **native Apple Silicon support**, rather than simply getting Strata to run through compatibility layers or Rosetta.

Where the project currently contains platform-specific logic, platform detection and isolated implementations should be preferred over duplicating large portions of the application.

Any functionality that cannot reasonably be supported on macOS should be identified and documented as part of the implementation.
